VJab

The next day they all wondered if we had really tamed the Vampire Jabberwock.  The Vampire used his talking machine and informed them that he really wanted to go outside and explore Noob Island.  He had been isolated in the box for over 500 years and wondered what the island was like and what he might find.  He also mentioned that he was quite hungry in that he had not eaten for such a long time.

So Finley hit the lever to open the door to the outside.  The Vampire Jabberwock ran out and started to fly all over the place.  All of a sudden he swooped down onto a pig and immediately sucked the blood out of the pig which turned from a nice pink color to all white.  The Vampire came back and said, "That felt really good" and took off again looking for more blood.  This time he stopped a cow and quickly sunk his two incisor teeth into the cow and sucked out its blood.  He laughed and said, "Hemoglobin, hemoglobin, I love that red hemoglobin!!" When the Jabberwock finally came back and saw a frightened look on their faces, he said not to worry because he could not harm the ones who put the potion into him and freed him from that horrible box.  They all relaxed and felt they had made a friend.

The Vampire Jabberwock, (and from now on they decided to call him Vjab for short), said that they should climb onto his tail and he would give them a tour of Noob Island.  Once they were on the tail, Vjab started to fly all over the island and said he remembered the island from years ago.  He told us a story of pirates which long ago came to the island and buried a treasure on the island. He remembered seeing them bury a large chest filled with gold, silver, emeralds, and diamonds.  He also said the island had changed a lot since that time, and he was having a difficult time trying to figure out where the chest could be.

Vjab then asked Grandpa if he had his compass because the compass could lead to where the chest was buried.  He said all Grandpa  had to do was point the compass at the Sun and say, "Buried treasure",  and the compass needle would point to the place where we had to dig.  Grandpa did as Vjab instructed and sure enough, the compass needle pointed to a place near the sea shore.  Vjab flew them back to the stone house so they could get their diamond pick axes in order to dig up the treasure chest.  When they got back to the sea shore they all started to dig.  They picked their way down about 50 blocks when they heard a "THUD" as Hudson’s axe struck something very hard.  They got very excited and the three of them began to dig as fast as they could until they found ourselves in a large chamber with the treasure chest in the middle.  It was very dark, so Finley lit a few torches and they could not believe what they were seeing.

There were pirate skeletons all over in the chamber each with a knife in their chest.  Even though they were dead, when the wind blew through their teeth, we could hear them singing "Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum, beware anyone take treasure from this place, because if you do we will break your face."  They did not think dead skeletons could harm them so they went and opened up the chest which indeed was filled with booty.  The skeletons jumped to their feet and started to attack but Vjab quickly spit fire at the skeletons and all the skeletons melted.  Vjab said that these pirates were buried alive after the treasure chest was buried by an evil Captain named Captain Blood and it was Captain Blood who captured Vjab and sealed him up in the box.

Meanwhile the three noticed something strange in one corner of the chamber... something seemed to be glowing and then the two Noobs realized it was LAVA which was seeping into the chamber.  They called to Vjab to get them out and bring the treasure chest up from the chamber.  This he did and they all, along with the treasure, went back to the stone house where Fluffy was waiting.

The 500-Year Nap

Grandpa, Hudson and Finley all woke up pretty early as the clock showed that the time was 5 in the morning.  They were all excited about making the potion with which they could control the Vampire Jabberwock.  Finley’s pet wolf was howling and seemed to be hungry.  Finley decided to name him Fluffy.  After a quick breakfast, Finley crafted a new metal bucket by using 3 iron ingots.  Hudson opened up the instructions which they were to follow to make the potion.  Since Hudson could read, they let him read off how the potion should be made.  Hudson read,

"Step 1 - fill the bucket half full with water"

"Step 2 - Pour in the contents of vial #1 the dandelion roots"

"Step 3 - Mix in spider webs from vial #3"

"Step 4 - add one bean from vial #8"

"Step 5 - Add 5 ant legs from vial #21"

"Step 6 - Mix in 2 teaspoons of bee pollen from vial #2"

"Step 7 - Add 5 tomato seeds from vial #5"

"Step 8 - Add the buttercup flowers from vial #13"

"Step 9 - Add a pipette full of chicken blood; "

and finally,

"Step 10 - Boil the contents for 15 minutes, then let the potion cool down and place the potion into each of the empty vials which would be enough for 8 treatments if necessary."

The potion started to bubble and turned all sorts of different colors.  The potion flew out of the bucket and swirled around the room and finally went back into the bucket. Hudson then read that they were to pour the contents of one vial onto a wooden stick and then quickly plunge the stick and potion into the Vampire’s heart.

This should prevent the Vampire from doing any bad things and only good things, they hoped!

So they all began to dig their way down to where the wooden box was located with their diamond pick axes as some of the blocks had broken during the night due to a very bad thunder and lightning storm.  The three eventually reached the box and wondered how they were going to open the box and then quickly stab the Vampire with the potion-containing stick.  Finley remembered that he had 2 pistons in his inventory and that pistons could be used to lift up things.  So they decided that Finley and Grandpa would use a piston at each end of the box and as soon as it was lifted, Hudson was to jab the stick into the Vampire’s heart.  That seemed like a good plan even though the legend never mentioned how we would be able to control the Vampire.

The adventurers then got to work and once the pistons were place, Finley and Grandpa started to lift the lid off the box. A terrible smell started to come out of the box and they guessed that the Vampire had been locked up in the box for a very long time.

Once the lid was off the box, Hudson started to scream because he said he saw the scariest creature he had ever seen.  However, Hudson was able to plunge the potion stick into the Vampire’s heart.  They all waited awhile to see what was going to happen and just when they thought it would be safe to look into the box, the Vampire Jabberwock flew out and chased them by breathing fire at them.

They all said at once, "Oh my goodness, the potion did not work!"

However, after a few minutes the Vampire stopped chasing them and landed on the top of the wooden box.  He reached into the box and took out what looked like a walkie talkie.  The Vampire started to make sounds into the device and the sounds came out of it in a language they could understand.  He first wanted to know who shoved the stick into his heart and Finley and Grandpa pointed to Hudson.  He said, "Well I think I will have to bite him and then set him on fire."

Hudson got a little nervous, but then the Vampire said “Just kidding!!” and thanked Hudson for reawakening him after 500 years in the box.  The Vampire Jabberwock then began to tell a long story about why he was locked in the box which was a little like the legend implying that he was capable of very good and very bad things but for now the potion would prevent him from doing anything bad.

The Jabberwock lifted them up on his tail and flew them up to the room with crafting table.  He asked if he could go outside because he had not seen the Sun in such a long time and Finley opened the door to the outside.  It was getting dark and there were several skeletons and creepers near the door but when they saw the Jabberwock they immediately ran away.  The skeletons ran so fast that they broke up into bones and Fluffy ran out to retrieve a few bones for his dinner.

The Vampire Blocks

While Finley and Hudson were asleep, Grandpa woke up and decided to craft a clock so they could know the time.  He realized that he needed 4 gold nuggets and a compass to make a clock; therefore, Grandpa first had to craft a compass.  He took 4 iron ingots and some redstone dust to make the compass and then crafted the clock by using the compass and 4 gold ingots which he took from Hudson’s inventory.Grandpa also crafted a second compass because you never know when you will need one.

When Hudson and Finley woke up, they saw the clock and wondered where it came from.  Grandpa said that he crafted it and it was time to have breakfast.  Finley cooked some steak on his furnace and Hudson collected some chicken eggs and they all had steak and eggs for breakfast.

The three then decided that they should go down to where the large box with the Vampire Jabberwock was located; try to find the blocks which were marked with numbers so as to get the ingredients to make a potion to control the Vampire.  The diamond pick axes made the digging very easy and in no time they arrived at the large wooden box.  There were a few creepers trying to block them but Hudson and Finley were able to kill them with their swords and pick up the TNT which they dropped.

The adventurers noticed that the tunnel entrance had been blocked with a great deal of stone, and they wondered if the Endermen had done that so they could not follow them out of the stone house.  Hudson and Finley found a few of the blocks which were marked with numbers and after awhile all of the 8 blocks were located.  Hudson found the first block and when he yelled the number "1", the block magically opened up to reveal a vial which had a label indicating it contained dandelion roots.  Finley found block number 2 and when he yelled at it, the block opened up and the vial inside contained bee pollen.  After a lot of yelling all the blocks were opened and each contained a vial with different ingredients except for block 34 which contained the instructions as to how to make the Vampire potion; they were going to have to mix all of the ingredients with water and the blood of a chicken.

Just then, the extra compass Grandpa had crafted started to make an odd sound and the compass needle pointed to the blocked up tunnel.  They then heard digging and they could see light in the tunnel… and even worse, a bunch of zombies were coming through the tunnel!!  Luckily Hudson and Finley had some arrows left and were able to shoot and set the Zombies on fire.

All of them then went up to the crafting room and opened the door to the outside - seeing it was still daylight, they went out to hunt for a chicken so as to get some chicken blood and perhaps some eggs for tomorrow.  Finley then said that he could have told them it was still daylight because the clock read 4 PM.  Hudson and Finley each killed a chicken and they had the blood they were going to need to make the Vampire potion.

The trio had some cooked pork chops for dinner and Grandpa said that they should plant some wheat seeds so when they get wheat, they could craft some bread to eat.

Finley tamed a wolf by using a bone and they now had a pet which could howl if it heard some danger coming during the night.

Grandpa's In Trouble!

Grandpa was hiding behind the large wood box which supposedly had a Vampire Jabberwock inside while several Endermen were coming through a tunnel.  Grandpa could hear the Endermen speaking about a legend which involved the Vampire Jabberwock.  The legend claimed that the Vampire Jabberwock was capable of extremely bad things but also was capable of extremely good things.

No one seemed to know how to control the Vampire Jabberwock, so one day the Endermen made a potion from the deadly nightshade plant which could put the Jabberwock to sleep.  They dipped some arrows into this potion and shot the Jabberwock as it was biting an Enderman.  The potion worked and the Endermen sealed the Jabberwock in the box.  They did not want to kill it because there had been rumors that the Jabberwock had the power to somehow heal people who were very sick.  However, they could not take a chance because the Vampire Jabberwock had sucked the blood out of many Endermen and killed them.

All of a sudden one of the Endermen saw Grandpa and called on the others to attack him.  At the same time Grandpa heard loud noises as though someone or something was digging out stone blocks with iron pick axes.  Grandpa then saw Hudson Noob and Finley Noob and called out to them to attack the Endermen.  The Endermen were so startled that they all ran back into the tunnel from where they came.

The two young noobs had saved Grandpa!

Finley then noticed the large box and went to open it.  Grandpa immediately stopped him and then told Hudson and Finley what might be inside the box and also about the legend.  The two Noobs knew all about the Jabberwock as Grandpa had told them the Lewis Carroll story so many times in the past; however, they never knew that there might be a Vampire Jabberwock.  Hudson and Finley then saw that Grandpa had a bucket filled with diamonds, and they wanted to get to where they could make diamond pick axes.  So they all climbed up the stone stairs to the room with the crafting table; however, sitting on the table were two large bright red fruit bats.

The bats were eating what seemed to be bananas but what was odd that they were eating the peel and throwing away the inside.  In fact they started to throw the uneaten pieces of bananas at them until Hudson ran over and cut them with his sword.  The bats flew away but some of their blood, which was blue, splattered on all of them and later, when it was dark, they noticed that the blood spots glowed in the dark.

In the meantime, Finley, who has become a master crafter, crafted all of them diamond pick axes.  They tried them out and found that they could dig very fast with them and they never seemed to wear out.  They then decided to go to bed in the triple decker bed which Hudson had crafted.

Grandpa slept on the bottom,  Finley in the middle and Hudson on top.

The Adventure Begins

Once upon a time, there were 2 young Noobs. One was named Hudson and the other was named Finley.  Hudson was a 7 year old Noob and Finley was a 5 year old Noob.

Together they had built a large stone house on Noob Island.  Finley had crafted a crafting table and a furnace.  Using his furnace he learned how to smelt iron ore into iron ingots and with those iron ingots and some wood sticks he crafted an iron pick axe and an iron sword.  Hudson used the crafting table to make a stone pick axe, a bed and a picture which contained a bone which he had recovered from a skeleton he had killed with a bow and arrow.

Well... after they left grandpa’s house, grandpa decided to play Minecraft and see if he could find some diamonds so he could craft a diamond pick axe.  A diamond pick axe is very strong and can be used to break up just about everything; however, diamonds are much further down in the ground and grandpa had to borrow Finley’s iron pick axe to dig down at least  60 blocks.  After much digging, grandpa finally found some diamonds which were sticking out of a block of quartz rock.  He gathered the diamonds and put them into an iron bucket which he crafted from 3 iron ingots.

He then noticed something very strange in the corner of the tunnel he had dug.  There appeared to be a very old, very long wooden box all covered with moss.  Grandpa lit one of his torches to get a closer look at the box.  He wiped off some of the moss which turned from green to fiery red when it hit the ground.  On the box were what looked strange letters and numbers.  Grandpa could not read these numbers and letters but then heard a ghostly sound coming from the tunnel which said, “Use your eye of ender to read the message.” So Grandpa took out his eye of ender which he had crafted from ender pearl, black powder and 2 black rods.

The message read:

Beware!!! In this chest lies the body of a vampire Jabberwock who can never be killed if it is let out, this vampire will attempt to bite all who live on Noob Island and turn them into vampires as well; this Jabberwock can be helpful and controlled by a special potion which must be made when the moon is full. The ingredients for the potion can be found inside of blocks which have the numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, and 34 chiseled onto the blocks.”

Just then Grandpa’s torch was blown out by a cold wind and he saw a group of endermen walking out of the tunnel.  Grandpa hid behind the big wooden box to see what the endermen were up to.
